Question

Not sure why...

I'm not sure why, but I usually ovulate a week after a "normal" female would, and was wondering if that could play a factor is why I haven't gotten pregnant yet. I always know when I'm ovulating, so it's not that I'm too late or too early. Also, this has seemed to make my cycles longer as well. I'm a week later than I was a year ago. This all started in January. My cycles are now about 35-37 days long. I used to be exactly 30 days, but not sure what has changed? Anyone have any advice? (I've talked with my gyno, she doesn't seem to think its a big deal... But it still concerns me) this ever happen to anyone else??

Cycle lengths vary in ones life and change. Years ago I ovulated around CD 18 ; now it is usually around CD 12. The follicular phase is the part of the cycle that can be shorter or longer. The luteal phase stays about the same each month. In any event, as long as you confirm with BBT charting or an occasional blood test that indeed you are ovulating I would not be worried. There is no "normal" - ovulation is a product of your personal specific body chemistry at this time. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

By norm, I meant the average... Which is about 14-17 cd. Mine is about 21-24 days into my cycle. Do you think it may play a process in making it harder for me to conceive?

Personally, I don't believe it makes it harder to conceive. The only downside is that you have fewer cycles within a whole year for TTC. All the best.

My cycles were 30-31 days and I would ovulate on either CD 20 or CD 21. I think more than ovulating late, the thing that hurt me the most was my short LP. I ended up having to use Progesterone Cream to lengthen it.
With this current cycle, I didn't even ovulate until CD 63! So I'm thinking that ovulating late may not necessarily be what's holding you back, but may be combining with something (like my short LP) to give you a hard time.

The fact that your cycles have changed isn't really that worrisome as cycles can change from cycle to cycle.

If it keeps up, I would recommend having different hormone levels checked, and maybe even having your thyroid level checked as thyroid problems can really mess with hormone levels and can severely hinder fertility if untreated.

Danab1019, I have had my proestergen levels checked as well as other blood test (thyroid included) a few months ago and they all came back fine. And since I'm ovulating later, my af has also been later,
So i don't think that my lp has gotten shorter. I'm just searching for a reason or explanation. I'm beginning to think my infertility is unexplained.
