Question

Clearblue Advanced Fertility Monitor Help Please!

So when are you the most "ripe?!" The instructions inside say the day AFTER your peak yield the highest probability of conceiving, but other sites I have searched say the day you receive your peak. So which is it?!

Poll:
Day of peak (1 votes)
Day after peak (1 votes)

There is no exact answer for this, unfortunately. Ive had O take place the day before, day of, and day after a peak (all diff cycles, of course) and once it never happened at all (hsg cycle). I would go with the day after the peak, for charting anyways.

Thanks for the response. Did you confirm O by temping? I started temping last month so I will be curious to see when my temp spikes. I got my peak reading yesterday and my temp hasn't spiked yet.

Yes ma'am, I sure did. Im glad I did too cuz on my hsg cycle, I had 3 separate surges about a week apart each, and didnt actually O and see a rise til the third one. Both the first and second one I couldve sworn were legit cuz there was just so much ewcm and pain...but nope...grateful for the thermometer that month!! The one that happened before the peak was mostly becuz the monitor tests once a day and I had surged shortly after the test the morning before (I opk as well) so the monitor didnt catch it til the following day.

I guess that leads me to my next question... My temp has been slowly inclining since I got my peak but not by more than .2/.3 each day. This morning it was the highest it's been since my period.. Can "spikes" be gradual and if so how do you know what day you actually Od? I wish this stuff was black and white but it doesn't seem to be for me!

If u can post ur chart, that would be easier to answer, but yes u can have a gradual rise in temps, referred to as a slow rise. Ive found that the times I had a slow rise was when my estrogen was high. I played around with a tonne of supplements so it always messed with my estrogen levels. When they were too high for my luteal phase, it counteracted the effects of the progesterone. Even tho the progesterone was high enough to confirm O, the estrogen, being the "cooling hormone", would cool things down a bit which reflected in my temps. Once that wore off, temps would spike. Not everyone has spikes tho, so dont worry about that part. U can usually still pinpoint ur O day with the way they rise vs the temps before ur suspected O date, opk's and cm. Are u temping orally? If so, u may see more erratic or slow rising numbers if u sleep with ur mouth open at any point.
.2/.3 is enough to confirm O tho, so it does sound like the egg is out.

Ok I posted my bbt, if you wouldn't mind taking a look and giving your thoughts. Like I said this is only my second month charting temps so I don't have a "standard" yet, but last month I did have a clear spike. Thanks!

Looks good to me! A cpl more temps will confirm, but that rise is enough to semi-confirm things. Ur af temps sometimes show where temps should be as well. All in all the chart looks good tho. Hopefully u get a nice bfp this cycle.
