Question

How can I speed up depo detox

I have been off depo for 18 months now but I still feel the after effects in my system. I still have some eczema from it which my doctor said was a result of a hormonal response to the drug. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can help depo detox. Another member suggested I ask the question here. Thanks in advance ladies.

Are you getting enough vitamin A? I've been looking into vitamin A deficiency as a possible contributor to my very heavy periods and these sorts of symptoms can be an indicator. I'm sure you're well versed in this sort of thing as you are very proactive. Of course too much vitamin A is also an issue in ttc and pregnancy but worth a look. The other thing is Zinc. My 8yo suffers nasty eczema at times and I discovered something by accident. She had severe eczema on her inner thighs and had 2 days off school. In desperation I tried some calamine lotion for the intense itching (zinc oxide) and within 48 hours it healed completely. It had been so bad for weeks, we tried everything and this was a miracle. It may have been a fluke but it was amazing!

Thanks Maggic, I hadn't heard of vitamin A before. I will try that. As for camomile -that's my go to treatment. It helps the symptoms but not clear it up unfortunately.

Another supplement to look at is Vitex, it is a plant, and it affects the endocrine system. It is best known for balancing out hormones, and particularly for helping the body to create and maintain the proper amount of progesterone!
It is best for women coming off of birth control, and for women who have hormonal imbalance negatively affecting fertility. Please research it and learn more! It might be something you'd like to try!

My daughter (3 yo) is under the care of an allergist and dermatologist for her eczema. It shows up in the typical places: behind the knees, elbows, forearms, etc. Interestingly, it is an allergic response but to no specific allergen, even though a lot of people do have stereotypical allergies. If it is true eczema, zinc oxide will make it worse. Zinc oxide dries out the skin which is what eczema is. The outer barrier has become so dry, the skin has cracked and broken down. Use things like Vaseline (that totally cures hers during a flare up), avoids lotions with scents, perfume, scented detergents, soaps, etc. They also make OTC eczema ointments but Vaseline is by far the best product for eczema. It basically restores the skins outer layer and seals in moisture.

Maybe what my daughter had wasn't eczema as I thought the calamine (not camomile) was a disaster in the making too, we were just desperate though and it worked. The doctor was pretty sure it was eczema though. I scared when I tried it as it was the opposite to what's recommended in using something that was not moisturising. Topical zinc can also help peri oral dermatitis.

Externally you can use calendula cream to help with eczema. Very soothing is a paste made of slippery elm bark. To detox your body you can drink food grade diatomaceous earth (shell flour). I have been using it for several months now and was able to successfully treat a gastro -intestinal problem. Just some ideas. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have some vasoline, so I'll try that. And I'll look into shell flour. At this point I'm willing to give anything a try. I used vitex for 3 months but it didn't seem to have much of an effect on me so I stopped. I'll see what my new specialist thinks about it when I see him in a couple weeks.

the good news is my gyno told me it can take 18 months to fall pregnant after being on depo and it looks like you made the finish line, so hopefully you get your bfp very soon!
