Question

Am I Ovualting ?

I usually have 28 day cycles but after EP, I got my period after 31 days from the surgery. Then a 28 day cycle and then a 33 day cycle.

I started using OPKs from CD5 and today is CD17 and all I got wr the same exact negative result. Some days its lighter and some its darker.

I test 2-3 a day with concentrated urine and havent been having much CM and I dont feel comfortable reaching "up there".

When should I test (what time of day) and what does this mean not having a + for so long :( ? I'm running out of OPKs so this is really scaring me (I have 10 left). Thanks any info is needed really.

Well, on a 33 day cycle you wouldn't o until around CD 19, so that may be why you haven't received a + yet this month. I'm assuming EP stands for ectopic pregnancy, which can cause your cycles to become irregular for a while. It doesn't mean you're not ovulating, it just means you haven't regulated yet. After my first child, it took several months before I became regular again. I had 31 day cycles before pregnancy. They finally settled on 27 days post partum. It's possible your cycles have gone longer from the pregnancy. Also, keep in mind, you may have a short or weak surge & not get a positive. I didn't get a single positive opk the mos I conceived baby #2. If you're really concerned, you could try temping, but odds are your body is still adjusting. Best wishes to you on your journey!

Oh dear I hope I havent missed it, we havent been BD very much maybe only 3 times this whole month. When I had 28 day cycles I got my + on CD13 & CD14, so if I ovulate pn CD19 I should probably be getting my + today. Right ???

It depends. Some women will get it the day before, the day of, or the day after. Opk can be very unreliable (as they were for me), so it is best to be bding before you get your pos. That way, you have swimmers waiting on the egg in case you release the egg the day of the pos or you don't get your pos until after you o. My best advice to people, if they aren't wanting to temp, is to listen to their bodies and have regular, weekly sex all month long. It was always pretty obvious when I was ovulating, so I ignored the neg opk. You never know when the egg will pop, so just try & keep a fresh supply of sperm on hand.

I ov'd on cd 19 and got my +opk on cd 17, almost into 18 and it was a really short-lived surge.

You mean like at midnight CD17 Paperheart ?? I just did one now 8:40 CD17 and it was negative, should I do another later ?

Yes, it was like 10 'til midnight. Personally, I wouldn't test again if you tested at nearly 9. It can definitely be tricky to know the best times to test, especially if you have a short surge, but I think as long as you bd every other day during your fertile window, you can relax about making sure you get the surge perfectly. If you're bd'ing regularly, you're covering your bases and the opk's can help with knowing dpo after the fact.
