Question

Evaporation Line??

I did a HPT test 2.5 hours ago, didn't see anything so I left it on the counter and when I got home now, there was a distinct pink line?!
Are evap lines ever pink??

Sorry hun... but yes. I had the same thing and they are usually whatever color the test is. If it's a blue dye test then it is normally blue or gray. And if it is a pink dye test, they are usually pink or gray. I know it's disappointing but test again in a few days! Good luck :)

Evaporation lines are usually much thinner than the line is supposed to be and have no color. They can appear to have color because of dye run, but one of the very distinctive features about evaps is that they have no color.
I just checked out your HPT image and that looks positive to me! Sometimes as tests sit, more dye collects, and that could be why it became more clear over time.
Don't get your hopes up yet, and make sure that you re-test to confirm. But it looks like good news to me!
Good luck!
