Question

Why have I got ovulation pain at 11-13dpo?

I'm roughly 11-13 dpo so my period is due any day now. I've had some period pains and lower back pain as normal but I've been getting quite bad sharp pains where my right ovary is which sends shooting pains down my groin. I get similar pain when I ovulate but why now?

After your egg is released from an ovary, a cyst is created whose job is to supply the Progesterone your body will need to support baby. They can grow quite large and can cause a pinching sensation that can feel similar to ovulation pains. If you get pregnant, the cyst will remain and can cause the pinching for some time (I still get pinches, and I am 10 weeks along). If you do not get pregnant, the cyst will subside and your Progesterone will drop which causes AF to arrive.
