Question

Fluid outside sac

I had my 8 week ultrasound today. Baby is great with a 164 heart rate. However, doctor informed us that I have a small area of fluid outside sac. Has anyone had this and is there anything to be concerned about? I'm going for another u/s next week but figured some of you ladies might have answers from previous pregnancies. Thanks

What kind of fluid is it? I had a small subchorionic bleed at my 7 week ultrasound but it was no concern to the docs and it went away on its own. If your doctor isn't worried you shouldn't worry either :) Congrats!

Thanks, he said it was blood but he didn't use a clinical term. I'm guessing that it is a SCH too. He did say that either my body will absorb it or I may spot. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

No problem! Yeah mine didn't spot out at all but on the 12-week ultrasound it was gone. Body must have reabsorbed it. But know that if you do spot it will not be a big deal. My doc said that even if the bleed had stuck around it does not hurt the baby at all!

Sounds like a SCH, I had a small one diagnosed at my 7 week ultrasound. Mine bleed out at around 11 weeks then just brown spotting until 14 weeks when it disappeared :) I'm 24 weeks now and had no problems since. If you do start to spot/bleed make sure you take it easy and don't have any sex as orgasms make your uterus contract and will irritate the hematoma and possibly make it worse. I went on bed rest for 2 weeks when I bleed at 11 weeks and I think it really helped mine to resolve itself. Hope this helps, best of luck xx
