Predicting my due date...HELP?
Hi,
It has been confimed by the doctor that I am pregnant but when they asked about my last period I had no idea (mine are never regular so I never thought to keep track) - they said at that appointment they couldn't estimate without that date. (They didn't do a blood test at that appointment - I'm getting one tomorrow).
Here's the question (I forgot to ask the doctor):
Can a blood test or ultra-sound confirm the due date/how far along I am?

Blood test will give the exact HCG level in your blood and will be able to get a ball park figure (if you HCG levels are at 100 it's very early, if they are 10000 then you are much further along).
Also the blood test will tell them if they may be able to see something on a u/s since an intra-uterine pregnancy can be see on u/s when HCG levels reach 1000-1500. At this stage, they should be able to see a gestational sac and possibly a yolk (but keep in mind that a heartbeat will most likely not be seen since it's extremely early).
Good luck :)
