The only way to confirm ovulation is by charting your basal body temperature(bbt) but you won't see the rise in temp to confirm ovulation until a few days after it's happened. You could also use Ovulation predictor tests to have an idea before ovulation but they only tell you your body is gearing up to ovulate. The best bet is to have sex every other day throughout the middle of your cycle. If you have a "regular" 28 day cycle, you want to start having sex day 9 or 10 and keep it up until at least day 15 or 16 (later if you want to make sure that you hit ovulation in the event it happens late. Charting your BBT is a great way to get an idea of what's going on with your body. They offer a chart on here and many people use fertilityfriend.com which also has free informational videos about charting. Good luck!!

If you're planning on trying to track ovulation without OPKs, you can check your cervical position and monitor the changes in cervical mucus. That won't be able to tell you for certain that you did ovulate, but it can give you a good indication of when you should try to have sex.
To be sure you are ovulating, you'll need to chart your BBT as previous poster said. However, your temps rise the days AFTER you ovulate, so it will only tell you that you did ovulate, not tell you when you are about to.
OPKs can tell you when your LH is high and give you the best time frame to try. In my opinion, it's better to do a combo of all of them.
