Charting temps for the first time
Hi All!
I'm charting temps for the first time and I'm still confused if I ovulated: Fertility monitor was high on Thursday, Peak on Friday..OPK was def + Saturday. My temps on Thursday-Monday were 97.4, 97.7, 97.6, 97.2 (supposed to be my O day) and today at 97.4. Can the .2 be my temp spike? I have had egg white/watery discharge for the last 3 days now. I'm so confused with charting temps... I keep thinking I had annovulatory cycle :( Can anyone give me any insight?

As with everything else ttc, you have to wait ;-) You'll need at least 3-4 more temps before you'll be able to see a clear temp shift (or be sure there isn't one, in the case of an anov cycle). Temping is very accurate in showing an overall trend and narrowing down the fertile window and o date (in retrospect) but it's not especially accurate in pinpointing o to the precise day. You can have a temp drop the day after o, or only a slight rise - that's perfectly normal. As long as temps start going up within a day or two of suspected o and stay up, you can confirm o. That's why it's so helpful to use other signs (like your fertility monitor), they help pinpoint the precise o day and then temping confirms that o occurred.

I didn't spike until three days after my + opk (my first cycle temp'ing, as well. You may just not ov in that "average" time frame. Like pp said, patience is required to find your trend. It felt like it was taking forever to get my spike, then to get the three consecutive high temps to confirm a thermal shift. But it at least gave me something to focus on other than just how many dpo I am.
