Ok first round on femara and don't know if I timed things right

So this is my first month on femara and few days after finishing it I got my first smiley face on my ovulation test on the 17th. Now out of luck my DH and I got busy the day before, day of and day after so the 16th 17th 18th. took a ovulation test on the 18th around 5pm no smiley. So im just wondering is that a good thing did we actually time things right?
