I'm starting to think I'm not ovulating- does this seem like what you'd expect after 4 and a half mo

So my periods have been pretty far apart and I've really only been faithfully tracking for one cycle. This past cycle lasted 4.5 months and it seemed like I was getting ovulation symptoms several times throughout the months but I guess it never "fired" because no AF! Finally my period came it started out with two days of such light flow that the pad was always brown and dried. No cramping and no other symptoms- the today it was like I was soaking a tampon every couple of hours and it was practically sliding out when I was sitting down to change it- pads soaked, lots of clot like clumps in pad and toilet and red water every trip to the toilet. Lots of cramping (not severe but normal) sore boobs and headache today. Is it just so heavy because it's been building for 4 months? I'm just so lost.
