Breastfeeding and short luteal phase
Me and hubby are not trying, not preventing. With this I've notice my lp is just 6days long. We wouldn't mind adding another baby to our family but this has gotten me down. I'm still breastfeeding my first and not ready to wean, she's 8months. Any advice? I got my first cycle literately a week after I stopped bleeding from birth (1month) and it's been pretty monthly, my ovulation happens between cd 21-28. And I get my period 6days later. Can anything help this?

This is a tough one. In my own experience my cycles did not return until each of my children were 11 months old. I am all for breast feeding as long as baby wants. I weaned DD1 after a medical emergency on my part at 15mths so was not bf when I conceived again. I weaned DD2 at 15mths because I wanted to try for no.3. Unfortunately she was so attached to bf she would not drink anything but BM and the hormonal interference was throwing my cycles out like yours. She refused to cut down and it was distressing for her so we made the decision to wean and I fell pregnant 5 months later with my DS who is 2.5, I am still bf him! I've tried to cut down to before bed and morning only but he is difficult to say no to! I fear I'll be weaning him too soon as I'm trying to conceive again! Will your bubba tolerate some mixed feeding to let your hormones adjust? Cutting some of her feeds may help. BF has a big impact on my hormone tests and my endo said tests won't be accurate till I stop.

I really feel for you because I love bf my bubs and they definitely didn't want to stop. Because you want to add to your family you may have to make the hard decision to wean say at 12 or 14 months in order to ttc a sibling for her. I personally couldn't take boobie away from my babies before 12 months... It just may be easier for you to set a date to actively ttc and just keep hoping it happens in the meantime. After you do get a bfp, as far as I understand, (I'm no expert), your milk will turn back to colostrum by about 20 weeks so your bubba will no longer get a tummy full from BM alone so her time is potentially limited anyway. It's not easy. I had to cold turkey mine and I left mine with DH while I stayed at my mums for a few days. After that they didn't even look for boobie. My boobs were a different story tho! Lol
