Question

HSG-to do or not to do?

One of the doctors at my Ob/Gyn office and a close friend who had difficulty conceiving before having her fist son a year ago suggested I have the HSG done because of my age (35) in order to make sure that I don't have any blockages or scarring. However, the nurse practitioner said that I shouldn't need it because I have already had one successful pregnancy.

Has anyone heard anything different from their doctor? We are on cycle 5 of TTC. If this cycle is not successful, I was thinking about going ahead and having it done.

I had 3 HSG tests done in the last 25 years, basically every 8 years. Blockages can happen over time, so if it has been a few years since you first conceived it might be a good idea to check. We are currently doing expensive fertility treatments and I did a HSG 8 months ago to make sure everything is fine. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

My frtility specialist has all women do one, and said blockages can appear within one year.
