Hysteroscopy while awake anybody?

basically looking for experiences and advice on this please

No way should this be done awake. I had one done when they had to get rid of left over product from a D&C. Never herd of this being done apart from being put to sleep in an operating theatre.

It's diagnosis hysterscopy I won't be having anything done their just having a look inside they said it would be similar to the hsg? I'm a little scared but I have heard of people having it awake just looking for experiences

Oh oaky yes that would be different to what I had done mine was the D&C but they needed to do the Hysteroscopy as the needed the cameras so they could see & get the left over product from the 1st D&C suction where some was missed.

No, only had it under GA as part of diagnostic lap/ D & C. I imagine you'd want to be a tiny bit sedated! But then I have adenomyosis and endo with lots of adhesions and swelling and sore spots, so I find smear tests pretty horrific. You might not be quite so sensitive. :-)


5 years TTC. Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Surgery. 2 IVFs. No joy. Low ovarian reserve. Is there any real hope? DE IVF = next step. Much higher success rates, but so used to things not working, it's hard to feel too hopeful. Wishing others an easier time.
