Question

Can a cyst on my ovaries prevent me from becoming pregnant ?

I have a miscarriage last year in July at 9 weeks , the doc told me I had a cyst but that it was not anything to worry about . I got on birth control the month after , the depo shot . Only took one dose due to none stop bleeding , I just had a bad experience with it all together . I'm now trying to conceive but for the past 3 months I been getting faint positives and then negatives then a normal peroid . (My periods are very light and are only 3 days max ) I was told ovarian cyst can make a pregnancy test positive . I'm now scared the cyst is bigger then I thought . Can someone give me some advice ? I'm a bit worried , I should have been pregnant already .

There are many different kinds of ovarian cysts. Did your dr specify? Your dr seemed not worried, so it is possibly just a corpus luteum cyst or a fluid filled follicular cyst. They disappear on their own and typically don't cause problems. Corpus luteum cysts can give you false positives with pregnancy tests but they will not keep you from conceiving. Your periods might be light and short due to the depo shot you took. If the cyst is causing you pain and you are worried give your dr a call. I would add that it can take up to a year to conceive even if there are no fertility issues involved. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.
