Question

Why didn't it happen the first time?! 2nd month TTC

I got off BC Ortho-tricyclen on July 23. Started my period on the 24th-28. Then August came.. I was Fertile the 6th-12th and I ovulated on the 11th. We did the baby dance 6,8,10,11,12. I thought I had a lot of symptoms but it turns out I was just making myself feel them. I got my period on the 25th of august ended on the 29th :-( I was pretty upset and felt like I couldn't conceive. So we are trying again this month.. It is now September, I'm fertile day 5-11 and I ovulated on the 10th. We did the baby dance 6,8,9,11. I'm 7dpo as of today and all I notice is tender breast/sore nipples. I'm restless at night and can't stay sleeping. I feel pretty much of for this month as well...

Why didn't I get pregnant the first time trying? Do you think maybe the birth control effected me ? And do you think I could be pregnant this month?

Oh, honey. Patience. Patience. Some women take months to adjust to coming off the pill. Even if you are totally fertile and doing everything perfectly, your odds of pregnancy are only about 20% in any given cycle. It took me 21 months. It has taken many women years. Be patient and expect it to take some time. Hopefully then you will be pleasantly surprised!

Definitely agree! Patience is key. They claim to wait up to a year of trying before assuming something is wrong. Especially coming off bc. How are you confirming O? Temping? We have been trying off and on since Aug 2012. Starting temping March this yr to confirm ovulation. Mc in July and a cp Aug. This stuff absolutely take time. Gl this cycle

I agree, patience is key. Are you using opk's to track ovulation? It sounds like your timing is lined up, but something else was off for last month. It could be that maybe your uterus didn't get thick enough to support implantation, but that's just one "maybe" of many. Try to be patient and give your body time to find its groove before you start worrying that something is wrong. It's much more likely to take more than one cycle than it is that you'd get pg on the first try. And know that I'm telling myself that same advice! After successfully conceiving on the first cycle for three pregnancies, we failed to conceive last month during our first ttc cycle since a miscarriage in May. I've got a million "why didn't it work?" questions, too, but am trying to not jump to any conclusions just based on one cycle. As far as being pg, now, I say your odds are as good as anyone's who has every symptom in the book. Until af shows, there's always a chance :). Good luck!

I'm now currently two days late No sign of AF, 15 DPO. Breasts still ache and hurt to touch. They are A LOT more sensitive then they usually are before AF. I've been having high temps in the 98.4 range this week, feeling light headed and today I woke up with a runny/stuffy nose with a head ache.
Keeping my fingers crossed!! Not going to test till AF is more then 4 days late.
