Question

3 chemicals in a row

Hi ladies, need some advice. We've been ttc for 6 months. The first 3 months got only bfn. Then I decided to try pre-seed. Got a bfp the first month. But my period showed up a day late. Since then I've had 2 more chemicals (June, july, August). All the time I was using pre-seed. I don't think it has anything to do with my losses. Obviously I do get pregnant but for some reason it doesn't stick. I have an appointment with my doctor in 3 weeks, but I don't really think he's gonna be helpful (most doctors don't' recognize chemicals as a miscarriage). My luteal phase is pretty short but not dramatically 11-12 days. And I'm 34, my husband is 41. I'm getting nervous it's because of our age. Any thoughts?

I think it is a good time for you to get help (See a fertility expert though) because you are 34 (not to old), you might have a thin lining (a scan will be able to see that). Are you taking prenatals (with folic acid), maybe the recomended dose of Vitamin D3 (if you don't get if tested to see if you need more). I know of a fertility Dr who does not like preseed maybe you should try something like mucinex tablet (the plain kind) or evening primrose oil. No coffee, no alcohol.

Thanks for your reply. I've been taking prenatal for 3 months, baby aspirin for 2 months, and this months started eating pineapples. Also I bought pre-gest cream. Maybe it'll help.
I want to try to get pregnant on my own for another 6 months, when it'll be a year. I feel healthy (never done abortions, never taken pills, don't smoke, eat right, regular cycles)
Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover infertility treatment. So I guess an infertility specialist is gonna be my last option.
Why don't doctors like preseed?

So sorry to hear you've had 3 chemicals! Any loss is awful whether a chemical or miscarriage, as I' too have suffered. Fingers crossed for next month! This is a very interesting question as I got pregnant using pressed after ttc for 6 mths as it was recommended but that ended as a chemical. Ummm maybe there is something in this but I will do more research now I'm aware as I hadn't realised there may be a connection! I miscarried 2 mths ago in July and haven't had a peak on my monitor since so we just bd anyway around the time I thought I might get ovulation but I got af last mth on day 39 ( my cycles are usually regular and 29/30) this month we used preseed again as no peak on monitor and I think I'm pregnant. I'm only 5 dpo but I just know as my nipples are on fire, my gums are bleeding, my nose runny and I've got backache. If I have another chemical I will be gutted, but I will let you know the outcome as if I do I won't be using it again I'll follow your profile and stay in touch.

Hey just seen this thread below on another board which defo explains my situ as my hubbies sperm is poor( he has 99% abnormal sperm, low morphology and slow swimmers) this was the results we received in June from London fertility clinic so would explain the chemical I had in July and the preseed connection explanation! If this month isn't BFP we going to start Icsi ( ivf) with egg/sperm selection.

Hi ladies...I'm from a diff. Birth board but saw this and decided to post...they found a link between preseed and miscarriage ONLY because the thinning of the mucus makes it easier for genetically weaker sperm to get through and fertilize the egg. Unassisted reproduction is survival of the fittest basically and the stronger sperm usually survive but when u do things to assist its possible for weaker sperm to fertilize first. If it makes you feel better, if a miscarriage occurs it is still due to an abnormality not the actual preseed. Hope this helps a little. Good luck ladies :)

Tankandi73, sorry for your losses. I know it's hard to get a bfp and then your af show up. My second loss was on my birthday. We were in a restaurant and I started to feel something like contractions and pain and I realized it was over. It was the worst birthday in my life...
My husband checked his sperm. It was not perfect but ok, good mortality and count, but 76% abnormal. Doctor said his sperm is fine. I thought my problem was dryness. So I decided to help swimmers to get there. Well, it's obviously works. But I don't think presseed helps bad sperm fertilize an egg. If it makes them move faster good sperm moves faster than bad sperm anyway. I've done some research about presseed and the odds to get a miscarriage are same as without it.
So let's think it's just a bad luck. I wish you all the best. Please keep me posted on your outcome. I'm about to ovulate in a day or two, bd'ing actively with preseed again), so 2 more weeks.Sorry if I made mistakes, English is my second language.
