What I have read is that the ability of sperm to get through your uterus has nothing to do with its position. It is based on sperms' ability to swim, the CM consistency, and other factors. A retroverted uterus may signal underlying issues like endometriosis which can affect fertility. The condition, not the angle of the uterus can make it harder to conceive. If you are dealing with too little fertile mucus you can try using pre seed or take mucinex to make your existing CM thinner. Evening primrose oil works best for me and has increased CM in quantity and quality. All the best.

Thank you. I don't have endometriosis or symptoms that could point in that direction. I have pretty regular and normal menstrual cycles. I'm 35 and read that it can take 6-12 months to conceive. Is this necessarily true?

There is only a 20-25% chance of conceiving in any given cycle and this is also the case for young couples in their 20s. It can take up to a year to conceive even without any fertility issues involved. Since you are 35 I recommend seeing a fertility specialist if you don't conceive within the next few cycles. It is a good idea to be proactive when you are in your mid 30s. I hope it will happen for you soon.

I also have a tilted U. It took me and my husband almost 2 yr TTC. after i found this out we BD more and used pillows and afterwards laid there for a couple mins. Tilted U does matter when TTC. the boys can swim there little hearts out but chances are if they have to climb a wall to the other side-its not happening. Good luck!

Thank you sumsum14. I read on two websites, had one friend and one member suggest BD using the rear-entry position and to try Preseed for my tilted uterus. So we are trying these suggestions during this cycle as well as BD everyday of my fertile period (which is this week). If it doesn't work this cycle, we will try for 3 more cycles before seeing a fertility specialist.
