It really depends on each pregnancy. I've always had a definite bfp by 12 dpo, but that's not always the case for everyone and could easily not be the case for me with future pregnancies. It also varies with each test brand, then from test to test even with the same brand. Try not to get too caught up in the darkness of the line vs. your dpo because way too many variables affect the outcome. Then, there's always the possibility that you o'd later than you think or implanted later than average. I'd wait at least a day, but best results if you wait two, and test again.
