Question

41 yo & first cycle TTC after the return of AF after nursing! How long did it take you to get a

Hi ladies, we're trying for #2, and AF finally came back 10 months after my son's birth and I reduced nursing to 2xday. I used an OPK this month, got a positive on CD 18, and had sex CD on 14, 16, 17, 18 and 19. Got BFP on first try with DS at 39 and his brother (who we lost) at 38. For ladies TTC post-nursing, how long did it take you to get a BFP? Did you have any ovulation issues or funkiness? I'm 41, so crossing fingers it won't take too long, I have the baby itch! :-(

I conceived naturally at ages 42 and 45. It took us over a year at age 42 as we suffered 2 miscarriages prior to conceiving. At age 45 I conceived after 7 months of trying with one miscarriage occurring. My experience is that it does not necessarily take longer to conceive at an older age but that you might suffer a few losses. I have been TTC #5 for over a year now. My specialist is of the opinion that during our current attempt conception has probably occurred multiple times. However, no pregnancy is going forward because of chromosomal abnormalities. I recommend being patient, possibly trying Femara if needed. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.
