Any one of advanced maternal age or AMA here?
Any one of advanced maternal age or AMA i.e. above 35 yrs, I never felt old until I was told I was of AMA by my OB-GYN. I will be 36 years this November and this puts me in a different risk category than the young ones. Anyone out there currently preggo and of AMA?

I too conceived naturally at age 36 and delivered a healthy boy last year. I am now 37 and we are TTC for #2. I was never told by my doctors (GP and Ob-Gyn) that I am in a different risk category. In fact, my Ob-Gyn told me that I am still young and I will have no problem TTC for #2 ^_^
I wish you all the best and baby dust for you.

I had my first at 33 & my second at 36. We conceived both right away with no issues. I was considered higher risk at 36 for chromosomal abnormalities, like Downs, trisomy 13 & 18, but I knew those odds beforehand. I did have the blood work that does genetic testing for the 3 trisomies (downs, 13, 18) but only bc it was noninvasive & gave me peace of mind. I wasn't willing to risk an amnio. My kids are now 3 yrs & 6 months & perfect in every way. However, we are done TTC. Two children have completed our family.
