How do clear blue digitals work?

Hi input it on a hpt image yesterday but people kept voting instead of answering! I had a 'not pregnant' result yesterday and was wondering how the test reads the answer. I know there is always supposed to be three lines and you shouldn't take them apart, but if a 'not pregnant' results looks the same on the inside strips as 'pregnant' then how does it read it? Does anyone know? Tia ð???
