Question

Stupid OPKs...HELP!

I'm on my 3rd round of Clomid...
The first month I got a positive OPK on CD 18.
The second month I got a positive OPK on CD 16.

This month I had light spotting and EWCM on CD 14 and immense pain on the right side on CD 16, so I figured ovulation was either taking place or imminent. However, NO POSITIVE TEST! I was convinced diluted urine was the cause...

Today is CD 20 and I tested this morning with 2 tests in the SAME urine sample - 1 was positive and 1 was negative! I don't feel anything going on down there and no EWCM right now.

HELP! Should I listen to my body and assume I ovulated around day 16, or believe these tests? Anyone else have this experience with OPKs?

I've had similar scenarios and it's so frustrating. I use them more as a guide to confirm what is going on with my body but not the "end all be all." If I have ewcm or anything that tells me I'm close to ovulating but not a positive opk, we are still BDing just to be safe. I would listen to your body! GL

I fully agree with previous answer. 2 days ago I had a pos opk with the advanced CB digital. However, blood test and ultrasound the same day showed clearly that I am not even close to ovulation...no fertile CM either. I find that the presence of EWCM is one of the best indicators for ovulation for me. Opks can be unreliable; I just use them as backup. All the best.

When I was taking Clomid my doctor had me use the CB digital fertility monitor and I would always get a positive around CD 1-16 but my blood test would come back saying I didn't ovulate. If you have POS most OPKs will give you faulse positives. It even says so on the box. Like the other two I would just pay attention to your body. Good luck and lots of baby dust!

Thanks so much for all the advice!!! I'm still getting blinking smiley faces on the CB digital and it's day 21! It can't be right. Haven't seen EWCM since day 16 and my cervix isn't sore anymore (sorry, tmi!). Going in for progesterone test tomorrow....Does anyone know what the range should be if I did ovulate already??

One week after ovulation my dr likes to see progesterone at 15 or above. (I don't know the unit of measure; I am in the US, Canada measures differently). All the best.
