Question

Blue Dye vs FRER

Took a test at 12dpo - got a very faint line with FRER. Tested again on 13dpo with a faint line showing up again, except slightly darker (same test as 12dpo). Used a cheap blue-dye CVS test this morning at 14dpo and came up even more faint than the 12/13dpo. I've been having slight cramping, no spotting, and AF is due tomorrow but no signs of her arrival (that I normally get). Does blue dye differ a lot from pink dye? Which is more accurate?

In general most will tell you the pink dye is all around better. The blue have been known to give false positives which shouldn't be a concern for you anyway if the pink dye already gave you a positive. I don't know of any other significant differences as far as results but just that one inconsistency is enough for me to know I will buy the pink dyes. I will say that the FRER are the more sensitive tests so if the blue dye test is less sensitive it may give you a lighter line. Also keep in mind factors like when you test and how much fluid you've had influence the test line. I don't think anything is wrong. I think the blue dye was just cheaper and less sensitive. Congrats!

Thanks for your answer! I am now 15dpo and no sign of AF! My FRER showed up darker yesterday afternoon, but this morning showed up a little more faint than yesterday's. Either way I am seeing pink lines! I'm having some cramping today though, sort of like AF, but no spotting. This might be TMI- but can't go #2 hardly, so I'm hoping the cramping/aches are from constipation! Lol. I've never wanted to turn out constipated so bad! Haha.
