Question

Inconsistent waking time and horrible sleep patterns in tww

Hi fellow ttcers! This is my first month charting and I'm doing so in ff. It looks good...I ovulated, got my crosshairs, etc. However, I have a lot of the blank circles. I've noticed that either due to progesterone increase or charting being on my mind constantly, I'm not sleeping well (waking up all hours of the night) therefore making my actual wake time inconsistent. I try follow the rule about at least 4 hour block of sleep and closest to the time that it should be taken the best I can. My question is, even though I has been detected, I have my crosshairs, and all solid lines, should I just use this as a practice run and not even really go by what it says? I hope this makes sense. :) thank you in advance, and baby dust to you all!

I would continue with the charting as you suggested, it will still give you some sort of a picture of your ovulation. I just started charting for the first time too and in fact last night I was up all night long! I still took my temp to see what would happen and it was two-tenths a degree higher than my highest so far. So I guess it could give you false highs? But, if you're consistently getting inconsistent sleep, does that even it out, lol? Good luck and I know you'll be looking into every single dot on that chart just as I am ... waiting to see what it all means!

The good news is this didn't happen until after you ovulated, which is the most important reason to chart (confirming ovulation). After ovulation it isn't as critical to get a perfectly accurate temp every time, which is good because I always had the same issue you describe. If your temp totally plummets you might know that AF is coming or implantation might be occuring, but don't worry about daily fluctuations too much :) GL!
