Question

Any success stories with fertility monitors?? Losing hope already.

On CD13 (27 day average) + EWCM + pains on right side but not even a flashing smiley on the CB advanced digital fertility monitor yet?! Has anyone actually had success with these tests? Hopelessness is setting in already as much as I try to fight it...

I have been using the CB advanced digital opk for the last year. There were two instances where I never got flashing smiley faces for high fertility. Instead it displayed right away peak fertility. Other times it showed more than 3 high fertility days. Once it failed to detect the LH surge. I am still using this system but am not too fond of it as you are only supposed to test once a day in the morning. Keep testing and start bd because of the EWCM you are having. You can ovulate without ever getting a pos. opk result. All the best.

Agreed. I used the Clear blue Advanced opk the month I conceived along with regular poas opk. Never got a positive, but I did get a baby, so I obviously ovulated. I had 27 day cycles as well. That month we bd every other day from CD 8 to about CD 18 or 20. Ignore the test. Listen to your body. Gl!

I have used the CBFM and have gotten pregnant off of it both times, it is expensive but I highly recommend it. Amazon has great prices and the sticks are reasonable on amazon as well. I like the CBFM because it will give you a couple days of high fertility along with 2 peaks and then a high to let you know your best time to conceive is - partner that with OPK's to be sure if needed. Goodluck! :)

Ok, so I have Pcos. I have been using an app on my phone called GLOW. It's a period and ovulation predictor. It has been pretty accurate for me, but I have had regular periods recently. Of course, that helps. I check the app to see when I should be ovulating and start testing with OPK a few days before then. I also start DTD at least 3days before the prediction and then everyday until 2 days after I no longer have a smiley on the OPK. My ovulation was also confirmed on an ultrasound. So, I know I am DTD on the right days. Sometimes, there is a problem with the sperm making it to the egg. So, even if you are DTD on the right days, the sperm isn't making contact with the egg. IUI or Invitro could help this situation. Personally, I will try another 4 or 5 months, but then I will need to try IUI or Invitro. In short, try using a predictor app to help u figure out wheN to use the OPK. Some people ovulate early or some ovulate late. Clomid is an option for those who don't ovulate regularly.

I'm afraid I may have either pcos or a luteal phase that isn't long enough. I've been tracking my cycle for a year but only actively trying a few months... And there's no cycle length consistency or fertile time consistency. I used to get high/peak fertility days 8-10 and but the last few months my opk hasn't been positive until cd15-17, on cycles that are 26/27 days long. I'm going to continue to keep track but if it doesn't happen over the next few months I will probably talk to a doctor. Thanks all.

An update, I skipped the high fertility and went right to peak and a positive opk. Here goes nothing! Thanks for the support and good luck all.
