8 months after we got married we were "ready for a baby". It then took us 13 years to have our first. Although we had all these years of waiting and mentally/physically preparing we felt not ready once we brought our sweet little miracle home from the hospital not wanting to nurse and having colic attacks throughout the night. We had 3 more children after that, and with every new baby came a new adjustment although we prepared mentally and physically for it ahead of time. We are currently TTC our 5th. I know we will not be prepared if we become successful. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

It took me a few years after I got married, but if I could do it again I would not put my career first due to my age (40s) b/c I didn't know how hard of a time I would have getting pregnant. I think if you are a lot younger than 35 years old, have a loving & supportive partner with a healthy relationship (both emotionally and financially) and a stable home environment then you could be ready. Ask yourself if you are ready to put that child's health, happiness and safety above your own. Lastly, you sort of just know, but also pray for an answer. Good luck!
