Question

work question

Hey ladies, I posted a question earlier about the amount of weight to lift during early pregnancy..my boss is being a total jerk he wants a doctors note and to talk to my doctor because he thinks lifting crates full of lobster which can be up to 130 pounds, granted its to people lifting but I struggled even before I found out I was pregnant is not a big deal..what is your advice, I don't want to risk it if It could cause me problems! TIA

Get that doctor's note ASAP, and if your workplace has an HR department you should ask them how to proceed. GL!

Ok, reading through ur previous questions, u are just newly pregnant, yes? If this is the case and this is a job u have done before then the lift isnt too much...at this stage of ur pregnancy. U do not need to quit ur job or get doctors notes just yet, 130lbs between 2 ppl isnt a lot of weight (unless ur lifting it incorrectly, then it feels like a tonne) and wont put any stress on ur uterus whatsoever. Ultimately its up to u, but I know of many paramedics who worked until 6 months along and had no issues. Use ur legs, maintain good form and u would be surprised just how much u can lift.
Good luck with whatever u choose to do!

Yes talk to your doctor asap and see if he/she can get you a note. Lifting to much weight can cause a miscarriage.

Just depends on how used to it you are. I am a bodybuilder, and I have just changed certain things I doâ?¦.I am not comfortable squatting or pressing with my legs too much. Quads, arms, shoulders, back etc, I feel comfy doing heavy weight without too much strain. But if you strain hard to squat down to keep proper form lifting it upâ?¦I would ask the boxes to be made lighter, or get a doctors note. If you still feel it is easy and are confident in your lift, you are fine for the first few months. As for the response of the Paramedics, I feel that is risky for the pathogens you can expose your child toâ?¦I am an EMT on the side, and my bosses have asked that I work in the office until the baby comesâ?¦.the accidents and the bloodborne paths are not 100% of the time avoidable no matter how you try. So I just dispatch for now, while continuing my studies in school.
