34day cycle...hcg levels

I'm a 34 day cycle and I found out that I'm pregnant just last weeks Thursday (the day of my period). The hpt came up faint.next day I had bright red spotting, so I rushed to the hospital. My hug level was at 45 and my ultrasound showed no sign of pregnancy.I'm suppose to be 5 weeks and I'm not convinced that I miscarried.yesterday I got a bfp. So my question is can being a 34 day cycle have a late implantation and that's why my levels were low??? and why the bright red spotting??

I have an appointment Monday for another blood work.
