Question

Bleeding with early pregnancy

Hi I'm 18dpo and I think I implanted about 9days ago. Well I just started getting faint positives and getting excited! Af is seven days late. Well I went to the bathroom and I started spotting. I almost started to cry! I was just sitting there for ten minutes not sure what to do or say to my husband when I checked and the blood had stopped. I saw that I passed a bloot clot/tissue and it was done. Can you bleed in early pregnancy and not lose the baby? Or have I just lost it?

Bleeding is very common in early pregnancy but definitely scary to see. My recommendation would be to call your doctor and ask for at least two betas to be drawn (quantitative HCG blood tests). They are often done two days apart and you can see if your HCG is doubling appropriately, which would be a relief that things are going okay. GL hun!

Thank you, luvtowalkfast! My husband wanted to wait to go to the doctor until we get a nice for definit positive. If we get a positive(even if faint) I think I'm gonna go get the blood work done this week. Just hope my hubby can go with me! Yes very scary but it doesn't hurt! So I'm hoping that's a good sign. But now my lower abdomen feels full? Or heavy? Ugh I just hope everything is ok!

When I was 9 weeks I had a bleed and it wasn't slight, it was bright red blood and a good amount. I went to the ER and had an ultrasound and it was a slight bleed but the baby was fine. The bleed stopped and apparently must have absorbed into my uterine lining. My daughter is two now.

My girlfriend had her full period when she was pregnant and her daughter is now 13.

Bleeding is common and can happen for many reasons. Stay calm and talk to
Your dr.

You are welcome! I went in for my 7-week u/s a few days ago and they said that sometimes women get subchorionic bleeds which are not dangerous to the baby but can cause some blood to get loose, i.e. spotting. Hopefully it is something like that! FX for you!

Bleeding is very common in early pregnancy for different reasons, and not always bad! You can get some breakthrough bleeding and also can have small bleeds if cervix gets irritated because there's so much more blood pumping through your body! I was diagnosed with a sub chorionic hematoma (SCH) which are also common. It's basically a small tear where implantation occurs and causes a blood clot. I gushed bright red blood and big clots at 11 weeks and thought for sure id lost the baby! But bubs was fine on ultrasound moving and kicking around! I'm now 18 weeks and the clot has gone. I'm not saying this is what you have, just wanted to let you know bleeding can happen and everything is still fine, goodluck!

Thank you ladies soo much! Stellar222,luvtowalkfast and Charliegirl79! Well It was only that once and a tiny amount when me and hubby..had relations (lol) so I'm sure your right! I have no pain or cramping! I'm still getting super faint positives so this weekend we are going to get a digital test and see what happens. Hopefully it will say pregnant so we can run to the doctor this week. We don't live in the us (military) so where we are it is hard to just "walk in"! I will keep y'all updated on what happens but oh man I hope no more blood!!

After intercourse some women may bleed because the cervix is very tender and sensitive in the 1st trimester. This is what it states on the American Pregnancy website.

After intercourse some women may bleed because the cervix is very tender and sensitive in the 1st trimester. You should discontinue intercourse until you have been seen by your doctor. This is to prevent any further irritationâ??having normal sexual intercourse does not cause a miscarriage. This is what it states on the American Pregnancy.org website. I'm also in the same boat so this was a huge relief to learn.
