Question

How long does it take to become fertile after stopping birth control?

I took my last pack of BC pills on 7/19/14 (I'm counting this day since I took the entire pack, sugar pills included) I had a 1 day period 7/20/14 and this was all brown spottings - So my question is how long goes it take for your body to release all the hormones frrom birth control pills and could I have concieved this cycle even with a not so normal period???

I think it all depends on the pill, how long you've been on it, and your body. Every body is different. For me, I took my last pill May 10 and got a period a week and half later, had one in June, got preganant July 3 but had a chemical pregnancy within a week of testing positive. My girlfriend is still waiting for AF to return after stopping in June. I think it takes time, and again every body is different.

It just depends. I've heard of many ladies getting pregnant on the first cycle off the pill. I was on the pill for a very long time prior to TTC the first time and it took us over a year to conceive my daughter. So you never know. I started using OPKs my second cycle off the pill and did have an LH surge (so conception was possible it just didn't happen at that point for me). I'm currently pregnant with my second child and it didn't take nearly as long to conceive him. Good luck!
