Psychological Medications Safe for Pregnancy?
I am on a lot of medications right now. I have Bipolar Type 1, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Hypothyroidism...Zoloft 200mg, Adderall 30mg, Abilify 15mg, Risperdone 1mg, Synthroid
25mg, One Tylenol, and 1/2 Clonopin occasionally when my Anxiety gets bad. I know Risperdone, Adderall, Zoloft and Abilify are all no-goes when it comes to pregnancy, and I got a positive pregnancy test yesterday. I have an appointment with a new psychologist on August 8th, then next appointment within one week after August 8th, I will see a psychiatrist who can prescribe medication. I need to know what medication combinations are safe or less risky for pregnancy? Will my child already been exposed to the dangers of contracting birth defects/heart defects/spina bifoda with my current medications by August 13th? I am 3 weeks right now. I know myself well enough to know that I CANNOT function without medication, and there's a good chance nobody will be able to stand me. Let me know. Thank You!!!

I would definitely try & get in with the psychiatrist before the 13th. Call them Monday & let them know you just found out you're pregnant. The first few weeks are so vital for brain, heart, and spine development - your Dr will know which dosage & meds to prescribe. Try not & take medical advice from strangers over the internet, like which meds to take, how much, etc. Your health & the health of your unborn child is too important! Gl!
