Question

11dpo and a bfn, did I test too early?

Hello everyone! My fiancé and I recently started trying to have a baby. Last month I didn't get pregnant and it was very disappointing. This month we tried again but only I did a few things that I thought would help this time around like taking folic acids vitamins, having intercourse the day before and the day of ovulation, laying flat on my back with a pillow under my hips to help with the process, etc. 6 dpo I started experiencing some mild cramps, sharp pains on both sides of my ovaries, stretching of abdomen, small headaches, lower back pains, dizziness, nausea but no vomiting, mood swings, fatigue, breast changes, light milky white discharge but no bleeding. I took a hpt at 11 dpo because my cramps started getting stronger like how it would be during my period cycle and I ended up with a bfn. The cramps went back to mild again and I'm still experiencing those symptoms. I'm at 12 dpo and I wonder if I tested too early. Has implantation taken place? Could I be pregnant

Could be too early. Most women start testing at 9 dpo but get a negative even tho they are in fact pregnant. The average woman gets their first positive at 12 dpo. If you got a negative at 11 but think it could be wrong I'd wait till tomorrow if you can, and test since you'd be 13 dpo, right? Unless you have a lot of tests. I have like 20 of those cheap wondfo tests so I can test every morning starting at 8 dpo if I want. Just be prepared for disappointment even if you are pregnant. Use first morning urine too if you can. It's your best shot at an accurate reading.

You may want to temper your expectations a bit, it can take very little time to get pregnant, or it can take 6 months, or it can take over a year. It's a game of luck and science. You don't want to set yourself up to be "very disappointed" every month. It took me 21 months to get a BFP and I know people who have been trying much longer. Don't worry about it just yet! And yes, 11 DPO is pretty dang early.
