I temped orally, only becuz I know I dont sleep with my mouth open so my temps were never really affected. Vaginal would be way more accurate than oral and rectal more accurate than vag. U can def try one of the other methods but make sure to wait til u start a new cycle and follow through for the whole cycle. Ur chart isnt crazy erratic, u have some drastic ups and downs but definitely nothing unreadable. As for a thermometer, any basal therm will work. Make sure to insert it at the same depth every time, same with oral, same side and depth, an inch difference will have a different reading.

I have been charting for about 6 months now, and I also find that my temp is a bit erratic during my first phase of my cycle, but I went on a higher dosage of clomid this month, and my temp has stabilised. Altho I also started using inofolic this month. so im not sure if it could be that. But please if you find that taking the temp vaginally works better, let me know.
