False positive test? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I took a test and I got one faint line and one dark line. I didnt look at the test on the day I did it as my partner said it was negative. Something then made me look at the test a few hours later and thats when I saw the faint line. I spoke to my partner and he said he didnt realise he was looking for a faint line and that he must have missed it as he only looked at the other dark line. I s it possible that it is a false positive? Or was he just not being observant as he has never looked at a test before?
