Would taking an iron supplement with my daily pre-natal pill help to avoid future miscarriages?
After loosing my baby today @ 5 weeks, 1 day along , and being very determine about next cycle...I want to try something new to prevent miscarriage.
My progesterone levels are good. I have been tested by the doctor, so I don't need progesterone supplementation. My iron level is low though. Could this be why I have lost all my babies (or part of the reason?)?

Firstly, so sorry for your loss. I've been there early this year (at 7 weeks) and it's so hard to cope with. About your iron defficiency though, taking pregnancy vitamins will do no harm but I honestly don't think that an iron defficiency would make you miscarry. I've done A LOT of research on the subject and it seems that as early as 5 weeks, it was most likely a chromozomal or genetic abnormality that meant the pregnancy was not viable and your body rejected your baby. Make sure you don't even second hand smoke, stay off alcohol, eat good food. From then on, it's out of your hands. You haven't done anything to cause the miscarriage same as you couldn't have prevented it. My advice to you would be to allow yourself one normal cycle, which could be longer than usual - I know it seems a waste of time but gives you and your body to recover. Good luck, positive thoughts and lots of baby dust xx

I'm in a similar situation, if you don't mind me piggybacking on this thread. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I too am looking into what I can do while also trying to remember beyond being healthy it's out of your hands. My question is, why the baby aspirin? I keep seeing this on this site and I guess I could google, but what does it do? Do you take one daily??
