Question

How far along am I?? Where do you count from?

So I thought I was 7 wks at my last appt. But I'm trying to put all the info together.

May 7 was my lmp. I ovulated on cd16 (May 22) got a pos hpt 11dpo (June 2) seen nurse with pos urine June 16. June 18 I seen the doc and they drew hcg 2046. June 25 (I assumed this was 7 wks counting from lmp) hcg was 7900. U/S was done and he saw a gestational sac measuring 9 x 6mm and a yolk inside. Cervix measured 39 mms. He said maybe I was not as far along as I thought.
So I did some research and found these measurements to be normal at 5 wks. So if I take out the two weeks before Ovulation actually occurs then it would put me at 5 wks but aren't you supposed to count those 2 wks?
I've totally confused myself!! Any insight??? thanks a bunch!!

You do count those 2 wks. Your due date is calculated from the 1st day of your LMP, however, an ultrasound will be more precise. By 7 wks, you should see fetal poles & a heartbeat. That's why the Dr is saying you may not be as far along as you thought.

He knows I temp so how could I not be as far as I thought if I know my last lmp and ovulation day is what I'm not getting. My lmp don't match my ultrasound

My LMP was May 7th too, and I ovulated May 22, which is actually CD15 not 16. And right now I am 7 weeks 4 days according to my LMP. So you would be 7 weeks not 5. June 25th you would have only been 6 weeks 6 days, it's normal for their dates to be a little off in the beginning as they can only give you an estimate. So I am thinking you are fine, your next ultrasound will probably match up with your original dates, as I know lots of people who have gotten 3 different dates, one based on their LMP and then their first 2 ultrasounds giving them 2 other different dates. So don't worry about it, just count yourself from your LMP for now until you have another ultrasound. :) But I do think you are supposed to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks at least, so maybe your baby is just a few days slower at developing, but some babies are like that, so try not to worry. :) Your next ultrasound will definitely reassure you on dates and that your baby is developing normally. And you should see a HB. :)

Just keep in mind that every pregnancy is different and sometimes it isn't that helpful to compare. Hopefully you get another ultrasound soon so you can be reassured that everything is going well. :)

I appreciate the replies thank you! That makes me feel a ton better!! I think he is doing another u/s on wed cause he don't like my increase in hcg apparently its not enough for him. I already researched that though so I'm well within normal limits and I've since brushed that off.
