False Negative?

Hello ladies. I had a D&C back in March and since then my cycles have gone back to about 31-day cycles. My ovulation has been going later and later apparently and I think I ovulated around day 19 or 20 this cycle. I'm currently 16dpo and I should have had AF yesterday at the latest. But tested yesterday evening with Clearblue digital and got BFN. Still no AF symptoms today. Thoughts? Could it have been a false negative?

wait and test in a few days with early morning urine because the hcg levels will double then i got a faint positive day before af and a week later the line was darker than the control line testing early can cause a false negative good luck
