Sperm regeneration

This may sound stupid so forgive me. I was told that after a man ejaculates it takes 24 hours for them to regenerate good sperm. In other words if y I u have sex twice in one day the second time you have sex the male is just shooting blanks. Is this true?

He wouldn't be shooting blanks. However, he probably wouldn't have as high a number of sperm in the subsequent ejaculations.
