Question

Why wait so long to start Provera?

I have PCOS and require assistance to get pregnant.

I'm currently on CD23 and was confirmed with a blood test on CD21 I didn't respond to 50mg of Clomid (days 5-9) which is what I got pregnant with the first time.

My progesterone was so low the doctor actually thought I didn't take the Clomid! She gave me Provera and told me to wait until CD35 to start taking it.

Why would I wait that long to start it?

I'd be on CD45 by the time the Provera kicked in. Maybe I'm feeling impatient because I'm upset but I don't see why I have to wait so long.

Thanks in advance.

Hi :) I also have PCOS and take provera (just finished yesterday!) and clomid. My doctor also told me if it didn't come naturally by CD35 to start taking it. I decided to go ahead and start on CD30...took it for my 10 days and my AF came today--just one day after finishing it. It's never come this early!! So while I don't know the real reason for waiting (I guess cause natural is better)--I say just take it when you want.

Just curious - what was your progesterone? Mine was .62 last cycle that I thought I ovulated--ha! I'm moving up to 100mg of clomid and iui this cycle.

Hello,
She didn't give me a number (and I didn't really ask) but said it was less than one :/

Good luck to you, I hope the new method works and thank you for the answer :)
