Going Crazy - Considering Taking A Break From Tracking
This is only our 2nd month trying but I'm already going crazy with the two week wait. My period is due in 2 days and my temps are dropping so I think I'm out again this month. I don't want to get so obsessed with tracking that I forget about what's really important and possibly overstress and prevent conceiving. I'm considering continuing to take my temps, keeping track of CM and using opks to help with pinpointing ovulation, but am thinking about not tracking symptoms or temps after O to help with the TWW. I seem to be over analyzing everything and it's driving me crazy! lol I use Fertility Friend along with CDTP. Will not tracking my temps in the luteal phase mess up my charts and the predictability of these apps? Anyone else take a tracking break before? How'd it go?

You know, I am addicted to my BBT chart and it is nuts. (I only use OPKs, mucus signs and chart)......for the last 2 months I have not taken my temps for longer than 3 dpo. And it has freed me from stalking the chart several times a day. I would not stop charting prior to confirmed ov. bec. you obtain valuable info on when you ov. and whether indeed you did after a pos. OPK. Good luck with "cutting back" on the obsession.

I never charted my temps, so I can't give you a lot of advice on that, but I can advise you on not symptom spotting. Like I told you the other day, it is not reliable at all and will drive you nuts! I've had two kids, and honestly, I can't think of any early pregnancy symptom that is something you wouldn't find in any other luteal phase. Our first daughter was unplanned, however, we did plan our second. I remember the first month we tried. I kept checking off the symptoms and was 100% convinced I was preggo. I was SHOCKED when AF arrived. After some research, I learned that in terms of hormones, PMS and early pregnancy are virtually identical. Therefore, so are the symptoms. So, I ignored ALL symptoms the second cycle we tried. That was the month we actually conceived. The ONLY thing that stood out, symptom wise, that cycle was the excessive saliva. Other than that, I thought AF was on her way again. GL to you! Try to relax and enjoy the experience! It will happen soon!

I have the same analytical personality. It is so easy to become obsessed with getting pregnant and charting. As hard as it is for me, I don't chart. I simply use OPK's during what the calculator suggests is my fertile period. I tend to have a lot of mucus around the time I ovulate, so that helps me out too. Other than that, there isn't much you can do, you have no control over the sperm reaching it's destination. It will happen when the time is right! Good luck and enjoy your TTC time :)

I'm so sick of tracking all these symptoms to for the last 3 months as well, 1st month had every symptom possible on here thought i was prego but when AF started it was horrible and i was in alot of pain on the floor ( i think i miscarriaged) 2nd month just stopped looking for symptoms all together and didn't have any at all thought maybe this is it cause we baby danced alot...but period all of a sudden came 6 days early, this month only thing i'm doing is charting temps cause that will tell you when and if your AF is coming not even using opk's eithier just gonna go with the flow......good luck and hope you get your BFP soon!
