Question

Ok I'm 8 days late and 20 DPO. I took a test and BFN is this test correct? What should I do?

Okay so I took a test this afternoon.. which could be one reason why i resulted in a - but just trying to be positive here lol I really do feel I am pregnant I have never been this late before and my sense of smell has definitely changed, there is some fatigue, hot flashes, dull cramps and yesterday afternoon I felt nauseous. Really confused is this test correct? Or not? What should I do?

I would go get a blood test from a doctor or test again with FMU

See a doctor. Cause maybe you ovulated late, but its best to consult a doctor.

When I was pregnant with my son I had gotten a negative at 4 weeks but a positive at 5. Good luck!

Is there any chance you just ovulated later than you thought?

On my ovulation Callander, my ovulation days were starting from the last week of April (sun27th to fri the 2nd of May) my AF was due on the 14th of May sometimes my AF is late a few days but never this late.. But also has been pretty on time the last few months Guess I'll have to play the waiting game and make a docs appointment :) fingers crossed! :) my body feels different but I'm a little confused because I haven't experienced this before will be my first pregnancy.. Could I still be testing too early?

You could have ovulated later than you think. If you are unsuccessful this cycle, you should try using OPKs next cycle to determine when you are actually ovulating. GL!

Okay so if I did seem to ovulate late? What does that mean? Will I still be getting my period ? I just can't add it up I am defiantly 8 days late ? So confused right now?

Your luteal phase would be the same as most women have a consistent luteal phase (the time between ovulation and AF). So if you ovulate 5 days later than usual, Af should be five days later too. Since you aren't exactly sure when you ovulated you'll have to wait things out. This is why using more than just a calculator or app is so important when TTC. Otherwise, there is lots of confusion.

If you use OPKs next cycle, you'll have a much better idea of when AF should arrive or when to test. For example, I had very irregular cycles (ranging from 24 to 48 days), however, I knew that once I confirmed ovulation, that AF would arrive 14 days later. I conceived on a 40 day and 44 day cycle, both times getting my BFP at 14 dpo. I knew that my luteal phase was 14 days, so if AF didn't show I would test. The only two times AF didn't show at 14 dpo, I was pregnant. Ovulation calculators aren't that reliable since they are based on averages and not on you personally.
