Question

I "thought" I was pregnant... weird cycle? Really sad now...

Sooooo I was farely certain I was pregnant... started having crazy symptoms I never had with AF about 9 dpo and I was even late. My cycles have been 28 days like clockwork. Despite my continuous BFNs I assumed it was just too early to tell and was trying yo remain calm and sane until my doctor appt this Wednesday.

Well to my surprise AF suddenly decided to show up an entire week late and I was so mad, frustrated and heartbroken!!! I almost fell off the toilet and didn't know what to do... I just sat there like an idiot not sure whether to cry or punch the shower curtain!

Why would it play such a cruel trick on me? Why does AF and TTC have to be such a total bitchface?? Ugh so irritated and I feel so dumb! Wasted so many test strips too. Grrrrrrr...

Anyone else have this happen? Did your cycle return to normal?? Feel lost... confused... blah.

A few months ago my period was 5 days late and I surely thought I was pregnant. I had all the symptoms on earth. I did not even test at home because I was so certain. I went to the dr. to get a bloodtest which came back negative. I was in disbelief, but had to come to believe the results because my period started that same evening. This was such a disappointment that from now on I take every "symptom" I feel with a grain of salt. The disappointment was so deep. I fully understand your reaction and I also felt like punching the shower curtain. My cycles returned to normal after that glitch. Today I believe I was 5 days late because of Wellbutrin that I took over the winter months to help with my seasonal affective disorder. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

And I want to add that I felt like my body had betrayed me. It definitely took me some time to forgive my "body" for tricking me like this. All the best :)

Thank you. Yes it is so disappointing when you believe something with all your heart and then you are betrayed by your own body. Ahh... try again I guess.

Yes I had the really late AF. I am convinced it is something to do with ttc because it has never happened to me before. The worst bit it even doctors will tell you just to wait even with a negative blood test. It drives you crazy - bfp next time :)

I just dealt with the same thing! Had all "tell-tale signs" n thought my levels were just too low for tests n made appt for gyno Thursday to check since af was due tues this week. Well to my surprise AF showed up yesterday! My husband and I were rather disappointed because all signs pointed to being pregnant... such a bummer! Good luck next time!!

My last cycle was 9 days late. I usually have 32-33 day cycles and I went clear to 41 days. I was pretty angry by the end and just wanted to start so we could keep trying. I knew I wasn't pregnant so it was hard just waiting. I believed I ovulated somewhere between cd18-21 so I'm hoping to be back to somewhat normal this cycle. We've been trying since August. My doctor and my nurse keep telling me to quit testing and just relax. I can't possibly do that. My husband is so sick of me talking about another baby and complaining about not being pregnant, so I will complain to you ladies if you don't mind. Good luck to everyone!

I so agree with laceyjo85. After all of our continued BFNs, my husband is so tired of the subject pregnancy. It is truly a blessing to be able to connect with other women on this site that experience the same aggravations with conceiving. The very best to all.

I read this same story too too often. A lot of ladies pay too much attention to the symptoms they are having BEFORE they miss AF and just think they for sure have to be pregnant this time, but I think it's like your mind is tricking your body and it delays your AF because you are so stressed waiting for a positive test that you forget that stress is actually NOT GOOD for TTC and won't help you at all. You need to relax, I know people always say that but I AM NOT one of those people that are saying "just wait and it will happen when it happens" I believe that if you are using fertility and conception aids then that is fine, especially charting your BBT and paying attention to CM. BUT I think it's better to ignore symptoms AFTER ovulation because because devoting all your thoughts to believing you are pregnant may hinder implantation. For implantation of an egg to take place your body needs to be healthy and stress free, try not to symptom spot this cycle and it should help you

sorry ran out of room - it should help your AF stay regular even if you don't conceive at least your AF will be on time so you can start your next cycle!! All the best wishes to you and good luck TTC. I am on my 5th month TTC and gave up symptom spotting the second cycle because it just does not help, it makes you a ton more upset if you do in fact get AF.
