Poll: how many ladies stay laying down or put their feet In the air after intercourse?
Just out of curiosity, how many ladies like to stay laying down after intercourse, or raise their hips or legs in the air to help all of the little swimmers? I do this, wondering how many other ladies do it as well, anyone believe that it helps? Would love to hear everyone's opinions.

When my husband and I weren't trying I would always clean up right away, but after trying for baby number two I agree it just feels more natural to lay there and try to let a little miracle happen giving all the little swimmers their best fighting chance. Makes me feel better as well by doing this, even though I feel silly sometimes. It reminds me a lot that I need to paint my toe nails when I look up at my feel lol. Best wishes to you as well.

Well I tried the whole lying down for 15mins, feet up, propping up my hips thing with my ex-husband and never got so much a faint positive test.
After just 3mths trying with my bf - and getting up straight away after BD - I got my BFP (unfortunately ended in mc at 8wks). So more than likely my issues with getting pregnant with my ex were related to him, which is probably why the propping hips up thing didn't work for me.
I think if the conditions are right, it will happen whether you get up or lie there. But there's certainly no harm in it, and I think if it makes you feel better (psychologically/emotionally) then that can only help things right?

Ok I thought this and learned years after when going in to have my embryo placed in that raising your hips and legs does NOT help! When you raise your legs it make absolutely no change to your pelvis so that is absolutely no use just makes your legs tired. Raising your hips can actually cause sperm to stay pooled in your cervix rather than helping them get where they need to go because of the way it shifts your uterus. The best thing to do is just lay flat on the bed for 15 min or so and let them do their thing.

I previously thought that laying down had no effect on getting pregnant, but I just read a new article that people who stayed laying down after insemination/ BD had a higher chance of becoming pregnant ( I think it said 10% higher) and either way I don't think it can hurt especially if it eases your mind!
