Question

Who has taken clomid?

If I am not pregnant this cycle my doctor wants to start me on clomid. I just want to know how many cycles it took for you to get pregnant? Or if it didn't work at all. I just need all kinds of stories and what you went threw taking clomid. I need to prepare myself for good and bad. I know God is on our side. Thanks ladies, sending lots of sticky baby dust to all ttc!!! God bless you all. Thanks again my sisters.

I took Clomid for four months. I ovulated but never got pregnant. It was terrible and I was miserable every month. I was a dragon lady. Mood swings, hot flashes, uncontrollable crying, headache, gum pain, painful periods, painful ovulation...You name it, I had it. Make sure that they monitor you on it because they just gave me the medicine and sent me on my way. I had over stimulated ovaries because of it and trust me, it does not feel good at all. I stayed cramped up and drained of energy every month. The side affects started to lessen towards the end of the month but by the time I had to take my next pill, the symptoms picked back up. Just make sure they watch you closely and you should be fine. Take vitamins and mentally prepare your partner and family for the rush of hormones. Good luck.

I have never taken clomid but have been on Femara for the last 8 months. Clomid and Femara work similarly. Femara will give you much less side effects than clomid. It does not stay in your system as long as clomid does and it will not thin your uterine lining either. Because of these advantages I would recommend taking Femara rather than clomid. The chances to become pregnant are the same with both medications. We have not become successful but this is due to my age. I have heard of many women with PCOS taking clomid. There might be a better outcome if you have this condition and take just clomid. I do not know. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I took 2 rounds of 50mg clomid before I got pregnant. I did have a (blighted ovum) miscarrage and am taking a round of 50mg clomid this cycle. I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own. As sad as I was about the miscarriage I am not going to let that stop me. My hubby and I have been trying for over a year (thats why they gave me the clomid) when it worked the first time. I did have a few side effects such as headache and a few hot flashes, but I just remind myself that it is for something that will be well worth it in the end. Everyone is different. I have read that some get horrible side effects and others dont get any as with any medication. As for the thinning of the lining I have not heard of from my MD or pharmacist that that happens. It can however make you a little dryer if taken for long periods of time. If you take 4 cycles of it and dont get pregnant, most do within 1-2 cycles afterwards as it does help to regulate your cycle. Dont worry and good luck! Baby Dust!!!

Hi this is my second cycle and first taking clomid. I am lucky enough to have had little side effects when I was taking it, a little nausea and a headache here and there. I took 100mg and produced 2 large follies and 1 intermediate sized. I don't no if I'm pregnant yet but feel good about it. Do be prepared for a raised chance of multiples. I also have a friend who took clomid and on her second cycle taking it she took 100 mg and over stimulated and had a cyst burst. I would suggest leaning toward starting with low dosage, just from what I hear ( my dr will lower my dosage next cycle if I am not pregnant).

I fell pregnant on my 5th cycle of Clomid. I only experienced hot flashes as a side effect, but reading one of the other comments below, realise that I also had some dryness after using Clomid for about 3 months, but you can get around that. Good luck!
