Hi everyone, im new... is 8dpo too early for blood pregnancy test?

my scenario, i lost baby at 32wks into pregnancy due to abruptio,july 2013. ttc to conceive again in january i started fertomid/clomid due to annovulation. no luck as yet. my 35 day cycle started 14/04/2014. on the 25/04/14 i had a blotch of bright pink blood on toilet paper.as a once off.yesterday i had to do preg blood test for gynae and it came out -ve. its heartbreaking but i think 8dpo to soon? please help. having preg symptoms but it could just be in the mind???
