Q: OK to have wisdom teeth removed during TWW?!

Hi all, I just found out I need to have my wisdom teeth removed asap because of an infection in one of them. I will need to be put to sleep via IV during the extraction. The timing of this is terrible because I will be nearing the end of my TWW the day it is scheduled to happen. Does anyone know if this will hurt my chances of becoming pregnant this cycle, or hurt the fetus (if there is one?). One of my friends said it wont effect it that early but I want to be sure..... thanks so much!!!

Hi, i suggest that you tell the doctor and anethetist that you are trying and could possibly be pregnant, if you are near the end of your tww i would do a blood test to confirm pregnancy the day before your operation, it should be quite accurate by then. My frend was about 5mths pregnant and had to go in for 2 operations to remove abseses and she and her baby were fine, as long as the anethetist knows that you may be pregnant they will allow for it. Good Luck.
