Question

Progesterone Cream Success?

I just recently started progesterone cream as a way to regulate my cycle as my last 3 cycles have been anovulatory and 50+ days. I am just a couple of days away from stopping, and am hoping it will induce my period.

In the mean time, I would love to hear success stories. Hubby and I have tried so many different things to get pregnant, and I guess I could use some hope! We're really hoping this will help regulate my cycle, and after that lengthen LP so we can start trying again!

1)How many cycles did you use the cream for before BFP?
2)Did you notice a significant difference in LP length with it?
3)How did you use it? (I.E, in the morning and night. Wrists/thighs/whatever.)

Is this an over the counter cream or prescription? I don't know what the concentration or dosage is for over the counter creams, but I wouldn't think it would be high enough for your purposes.

It's over the counter. I did a lot of research before deciding to try it out, on the specific brand itself, and on the progesterone cream as a fertility aid overall.
For women who have PCOS (it runs in my family) or women who are estrogen dominant with Endometriosis, they lack progesterone after ovulation. The amount in the creams is supposedly enough to supplement what you'd lack, and I've found women on other sites have had success in regulating their cycles with it. But I was hoping for a confirmation since I haven't had any experience personally.

Honestly, even if something has the tiniest chance of working, I'm willing to try it.

Why not ask your gyno for a prescription?

I am on supplemental progesterone (crinone 8%) for a luteal phase defect. It's covered by my insurance since it's not for "fertility" reasons (although it is).

We have only been trying OTC and natural remedies so far. We're not really wanting to start asking for fertility help until we've been actively trying for a full 12 cycles.
It may not make sense, but it's just how we've done things so far. I guess it's because we're hoping to get a handle on things without help.

If it keeps up much longer, or this cycle of cream doesn't work, I'm gonna make an appointment to discuss my sudden irregularity.

I wanted to answer my own question, because today, after stopping my progesterone cream, I started my period!!
I was in the middle of an anovulatory cycle that was 40+ days long. I decided to start the cream on CD 37 and used it for a week. One day after stopping, my period started.
I used the instructions on my tub that said to use a dime sized amount 2-3 times a day. I rotated areas, wrists, belly, thighs, inside of my elbows, under my breasts, every time I used it.

Obviously, my only success was using it to induce my cycle, but I'm hoping that after using it a couple more cycles, it will help regulate me enough that my body will know what to do on its own.

I am so thankful that this worked for me!!
