Question

11 dpo... Pregnant or PMS?

OK, this is my first cycle off of BC. I ovulated on CD 15. I'm now on DPO 11 and am having some symptoms but I'm not sure if it's just pms or if I could really be prego. I experienced some cramping on dpo 9, 10, and some early this morning. My CM has been creamy these days as well. I've been really tired and cranky. My boobs started feeling a bit full and slightly tender only on the sides yesterday and still feel the same today. Since I've been on BC for so long in not sure exactly when I should start AF... All I have to go by are my cycles on BC which were anywhere from 27 to 29 days. I took a hpt this morning and it was negative. Is this just PMS or could I really be prego?

since this is your 1st month off BC, it may be hard to conceive this soon.. your body is use to having that medicine to tell it when to ovulate and have a period. this also may be why you're experiencing pregnancy like symptoms, because your body isn't use to not having the BC to regulate everything. your body needs to get itself back into its own pattern before you can really accurately track when you'll ovulate/have period. at this point, you havent had a period since being off BC so you dont know exactly when it will come. a lot of women have problems for the first couple months off BC because their body isn't use to not having the BC and your body reacts to it in many ways, like some women wont have a period for a few months or you will have pregnancy-like symptoms, etc. many different things CAN happen. All I'm saying is I wouldn't get your hopes up.. I would wait til your on a normal cycle again to start TTC. hope this helped and GOOD LUCK!!! :)

I agree. Since you don't ovulate on most forms of bc, it is hard to know when your fertile days are or when you should expect your period. I didn't ovulate or have a period for 3 months after coming off the pill. As for your symptoms, it could go either way. Pregnancy & PMS feel pretty much the same since they are dominated by the same hormone (progesterone). I've never been able to accurately distinguish between the two. Also, keep this in mind: your cycles on bc are medicated cycles. You may not have a 27 day cycle off of it which will change your ovulation date. Once my cycles resumed, I had a 31 day cycle, which put O around day 17. Keep all this in mind. Hope you get your bfp very soon!

I get these same symptoms prior to AF. I cramp between days 6-10dpo. My breasts get really sore and my nipples get sensitive. I'm incredibly tired and this past cycle I was so irritable I was constantly trying to pick a fight with everyone. My cm was creamy white right up until a day or two before AF.

Likely these are just AF symptoms. The problem with looking into symptoms is that just about every single early pregnancy symptom can also be AF symptoms. The only way to know for sure is if AF doesn't show and you get a positive test.
